ABSTRACT
This study was carried out on accounting information as a tool for management decision making in organization using anchor insurance company limited uyo as case study To carry out the study. Nine research questions were posed. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. The study was done in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The population of the study comprised of staff of anchor insurance company limited uyo. The population size of the study was 65. The instrument for data collection in this study was structured questionnaire titled: Accounting information as a tool for management decision making in organization (AITMDMO). Data collected were analyzed using frequency Table. The major findings of the study disclosed that; Accounting information help in cost and budgetary control in ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the management of Anchor Insurance Limited; Information from accounting system used to raise staff morale in the scope of business expansion and charges in the company. (Anchor Insurance); The measures to be taken to check fraud and compromise during auditing include; Having Fraud Brainstorming Session; Performing Journal Entry Testing; Inspecting Accounting Estimates and Checking for Significant Unusual Transaction.
Based on the findings; the research recommendation that; the management should be able to compare alternative actions and events from the accounting information or report supplied to them; The directors who have the traditional role of preparing this financial statement should ensure that it is prepared in accordance to the best international practices.
